Summer in the Bay Area

With so many choices of summer fun in the Bay area, it’s hard to know where to begin! Here is a short list of traveler approved activities in San Fran and beyond that is sure to make your summer one that you will never forget. 

May
The 3rd Annual Bay Area Traveler Olympics is on May 13th in Ocean Beach, San Francisco. Healthcare Travelers can compete to win a cash prize but non travelers are welcome to participate as well. The price is $10 and there are three physical events as well as mental games. 

Bottlerock Festival is happening on May 26th-28th in Napa Valley. This year will feature Duran Duran, Red Hot Chile Peppers, Lizzo, Lil Naz X and Post Malone. If you can’t make it to Bottlerock, head over to Monterey for the Cali Roots festival happening the same weekend (May 25th-28th). Wu Tang Clan, Sublime with Rome, Stick Figure and Shaggy will be just a few of the artists performing this year. 

June
Celebrate love at San Francisco Pride, one of the biggest Pride Fests in the world. The Pride Parade will be on June 25th, going down Market Street from Embarcadero to the Celebration at Civic Center. The North Beach Festival on June 17th and June 18th celebrates one of San Francisco’s most historic and vibrant neighborhoods. Activities include live music, food venders, local artists, beer gardens and acrobatic performances. 

July
One of the best ways to see fireworks on 4th of July is from the water on a Bay cruise. The Bay area has many cruise options available such as wildlife viewing cruises and dinner cruises with dancing. The Fillmore Jazz Festival is on July 1st and July 2nd in San Francisco. Attendees can enjoy artisan and gourmet food vendors as they listen to some of the world's best Jazz artists on multiple stages. 

August
Outside Lands Music Festival goes from August 11th to August 13th in Golden Gate Park. The lineup this year includes Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, ODESZA, Lana Del Rey, the 1975, Megan Thee Stallion, Zedd and Janelle Monae. 


Throughout the Summer
Foodieland Night Market offers an array of food from all over the globe. The night market takes place in different locations in the Bay area including San Mateo (May 26-28), San Jose (June 9-11) and Berkley (August 4-6). Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk hosts free outdoor movies on Fridays from June 16th through August 11th. Don’t forget to catch a San Francisco Giants baseball game at Oracle Park. Fellow healthcare travelers host several bonfire beach parties throughout the summer.
